WHO WE ARE
We are people just like you. We are sinful and imperfect. But we praise God that we are forgiven people through God's mercy in Christ Jesus. It is God's love that makes us who we are. We are part of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, a confessional church body which seeks to teach in accord with the Word of God. We believe that God has called us to live for Him and to share the treasure of the Gospel with each other and with the world. God calls on us to grow daily and to let our light shine so that others may come to know God through us. St. James has been a part of this community for more than 150 years.
WE BELIEVE
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God (2Tim. 3:15-17, 12 Peter 1:21). Therefore the Bible is the source for all of our teaching. We believe that all of us are sinful and fall short of the glory of God (Rom, 3:23). Scripture tells us that no one can be saved by what they do (Rom. 3:20). We are saved because God entered the world in Jesus Christ and took our sins upon Himself ( Col, 2:9, John 1:1, Isaiah 53:6, 1 John 1:7). Through His death and resurrection Jesus endured our punishment, defeated death and brought us life everlasting (1 Cor. 15:57, 1 Peter 1:3, Hebrews 10:14). God connects us to the death and resurrection of Christ, works faith in our heart and gives us new and eternal life through His Word, baptism and Lord's Supper (Rom. 1.0:17, Acts 2:38-39,1 Peter;3:21, Matt, 26:26-28). We worship regularly to receive His gifts and to grow in knowledge, faith and love.
