CAN YOU HELP? – The total bills for the repair of our computer room were just over $19,000. The total gifts contributed to date are $6,901.

CASTING CROWNS CONCERT - The Board of Youth decided to purchase 30 tickets for the Casting Crowns concert on August 14. The concert will be at 7 pm at the Oakley Lindsay Center. If you would like tickets, please see Jo at The Lutheran Church of St. John or your youth leader. Should be a great time!! Friends and family are welcome!!

COMING SOON -> HyVee Script Program - The youth will be selling gift certificates in increments of $50 & $100. They will receive 5% on the sale of the cards. Keep in mind, these do not have to be used for gift purposes only. You can purchase your card and shop at HyVee for your daily, weekly or monthly groceries, gas etc. This fundraiser for the youth has been implemented at The Lutheran Church of St. John and appears to bring the youth additional funds for youth gatherings and such. So….plan next Sunday to purchase your card and start making your dollar that you spend at HyVee also make money for the youth of St. James!

COMPUTERS - Old Computers & Software -- Don’t throw it away! Consider donating it to Christ Lutheran Church of the Deaf. We are especially seeking monitors. To donate or for more information, contact Pastor Tom Phillips, 217-245-0180 or ChristDeafLC@ verizon.net.

LADIES LUNCHES – Mark your calendars for the Summer Get-Together Lunches at 11:00am on the following dates:
August 5 – Sprout’s Inn at 2814 N 12th Street
All Ladies are welcome to join us for this time of fellowship and sharing.

ORDINATION - Rev. Stephen Mueller’s ordination/installation will be here at St. James at 3:30 on August 3rd. There will be a meal following so we are asking to sign-up if you will be coming to the meal.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will be held July 27th through July 31st. You can sign-up to help or register your children as you leave today. The theme is “Friendship Trek.”

WELCOMING PASTOR MUELLER - We want him to feel welcome and appreciated. To help with that we will have a food, paper, gift card etc. shower. Please bring your items to church for Pastor Mueller. Items will be gathered until August 3rd.
